Popular Type of Concrete Finishing

1) Brushed finish

This finish is the most used. As the name suggests, brushes are used to create a linear texture on the surface to provide more grip under any conditions. It’s a simple and elegant finish that fits almost all applications: driveways, alleys, patios, sidewalks.

2) Exposed aggregate

This is a more sophisticated finish, very esthetic and also practical. During installation, the top layer of the concrete is removed, thus exposing the aggregate stones that are part of the mixture. Special pea stones are used to provide an esthetic appearance and superior grip.

The sealer is highly recommended for better durability and appearance.

3) Stamped concrete

Stamped concrete

Stamped concrete is considered the most elegant finish. Only skilled, experienced finishers are normally able to execute a good-quality texture. Due to the high level of difficulty, this finish is the most expensive. It is recommended for patios and alleys but not for driveways (the appearance can be drastically affected in just a few seasons).

4) Flat finish

This finish is regularly used for inside commercial applications. Outside, the surface can be extremely slippery when wet or icy.
